a good way to start the day

ooooohhh...."brand new colony", now THAT shit is not even real. i have just arrived at work. i think that blogging is a good way to start the day, i may not be able to eat cereal, but i can most certainly write. well...at least until something technological happens that leaves me completely dumbfounded. speaking of which, i impressed myself yesterday. i disabled my "wlan"...i don't even know what that means so the fact that i did it is amazing. seemingly this relates to the internet so i had to fix it. anyway, when your computer starts up it says something about pressing F10 to enter setup...yes, i went there...to the part of the computer that is jamming it up like it is 1987. there are no pretty graphics or cutesy messages from google, prompting you. i digress...the point is that i went there and i enabled my wlan!:-)x

rabs, i feel like something is missing from the the greatest love songs...hmmmm....it will come to me. there is however, an amazing postal service break up song. it is a duet, but a tres cool one. i am not talking ricky martin and christina aguilera with pensive stares and mind- numbing lyrics. it is more like a conversation. i am not going to do it justice...it is called "nothing better" and it is phenomenal. i am contemplating putting the lyrics here, but the listening is so much better...hhhmmmmm...okay fine. here it is:

guy: will someone please call a surgeon who can crack my ribs and repair this broken heart. that you're deserting for better company? i can't accept that it's over...and i will block the door like a goalie tending the net in the third quarter of a tied-game rivalry

so just say how to make it right and i swear i'll do my best to comply

tell me am i right to think that there could be nothing better than making you my bride and slowly growing old together.

girl: i feel i must interject here you're getting carried away feeling sorry for yourself with these revisions and gaps in history so let me help you remember. i've made charts and graphs that should finally make it clear. i've prepared a lecture on why i have to leave.

so please back away and let me go

guy: i can't my darling i love you so...oh, oh

tell me am i right to think that there could be nothing better than making you my bride and slowly growing old together

girl: don't you feed me lines about some idealistic future. your heart won't heal right if you keep tearing out the sutures

guy: i know that I have made mistakes and i swear
i'll never wrong you again

girl: you've got a lure i can't deny, but you've had your chance so say goodbye, say goodbye.

i think i like it because of the dynamics of the song. that, and it is postal service.
